Jessica + Paul / Annapolis engagement session

I had always wanted to shoot a session at Quiet Waters Park but never really had the opportunity. Jessica and Paul live minutes from the park and visit often to go fishing or just to have a nice, romantic evening together. It was fitting that they chose that location for their engagement session, and I’m so thrilled I was able to explore the park with them! Jessica and Paul were so laid back and easy to work with, and they felt so comfortable with each other in front of the camera. It was a pleasure to photograph them.

How did you two meet?
Paul says:  I had just moved into Jessica’s neighborhood and she was walking down the road to pick up a young relative from the school bus stop. I pretty much saw her like a Hollywood scene “in slow motion with golden light all around.”

Jessica says:  As he walked towards me to introduce himself the butterflies in my stomach started instantly! Ever since that day we have been together like peas and carrots! We spent many summer days together and a few months later had our first official date!

First date?
Jessica says: Besides spending the summer together our first official date was to the movies! When I look back on it now, the scary movie he took me to see was not all that romantic but he held my hand i had a smile on my face the whole time!

Paul says:  Holding her hand was great and probably was the only thing anchoring me down or I would of floated to the ceiling.

Proposal?
Paul says:  Well…. she loves Christmas stocking stuffers. I hid the ring in her stocking all buy itself in the bottom so she could not see it easily.

Jessica saysHe woke me up that morning and told me I had to find my present by playing the “hot and cold game” I searched high and low and finally touched my stocking that was hanging up and he said “you’re on fire”.   When I reached inside my stocking I felt a small ring and turned around and there he was, on one knee and asked me to marry him! The tears started and of course I said YES!
